Patio

Arrival mixer, drink station, and cocktail hour vibe. This is the first thing guests see from the back gate — it sets the tone for the whole party. Catering will also set up food service here at ~1:30pm.

Setup Checklist

Set up 2–3 high-top tables
Set up drink station / bar cart — stocked and ready
Place welcome sign (visible from back gate)
Arrange flowers / decorations
Clear the stairs — high-traffic transition point, must stay open
Tape down all cords running from house/garage — flat to the ground, no trip hazards
Walk the path: gate → patio → garage door. Smooth flow?
Stand at patio to greet first arrivals and direct them in

Gaffer tape or outdoor cord covers for cable management

Placement Notes

This is the primary transition point between the house/garage and the yard. The stairs must stay clear — people will be moving through here constantly carrying food, drinks, chairs, and kids.

Any cords running through this zone (from house or garage to yard/zone 1 lights) need to be taped flat to the ground. A raised cord across a party transition zone is a guaranteed trip hazard.

The welcome sign should be visible the moment someone comes through the back gate — make it the first thing they see.
